Kuranda Scenic Railway is the original scenic rail journey from Kuranda. This spectacular experience travels over bridges and through tunnels hand-made by North Queensland's pioneers over 100 years ago. Traversing the World Heritage listed rainforest of the Barron Gorge National Park this is one of the world's great railway journeys.
Skyrail is the World's Most Beautiful Rainforest Experience. A 7.5km cableway, Skyrail glides just metres over the canopy of Australia's World Heritage listed Tropical Rainforests. Two mid-stations, Red Peak and Barron Falls, provide the perfect opportunity to explore and learn more about this ancient environment on boardwalks and at the Rainforest Interpretation Centre.

Diamond View Gondola Skyrail Upgrade: You may like to upgrade your Skyrail journey to a Diamond View Gondola.
- Take in the spectacular tropical rainforest from the unique viewing perspective of Skyrail’s glass floor Diamond View Gondolas.
- There are 11 Diamond View gondolas that each carry a maximum of 5 passengers, and will depart stations approximately every 7 minutes. Passengers travelling on them will enjoy dedicated boarding queues at all terminals and stations. Allow an additional 30mins for your Diamond View journey.
Gold Class Train Upgrade: You may like to upgrade from the standard Heritage Class Carriage to the Gold Class Carriage.
- Afternoon Service: Gold Class is ONLY available on the afternoon 3.30pm service and ends once the train reaches Freshwater Station (@ 5pm). Gold Class passengers will be served welcome drinks served onboard the train at Kuranda station 20 mins prior to the departuer of the 3.30pm afternoon service.
- Gold Class offers individual seating in lounge-style chairs, historical decor, with a dedicated host service provided.

Afternoon Tea is included in Gold Class and feature a selection of Queensland and local Tablelands produce such as Gallo Dairyland Cheese, Skybury Coffee, Wondaree Macadamias, Mango to Go (100% pure mango treat), freshly baked muffins, Sirromet wines and Great Northern Brewing Company Super Crisp Lager. (note: Alcoholic beverages not served on Anzac Day 25 April)

- Daypacks and fold-up baby strollers can be taken on the cableway. Luggage is not able to be carried on the cableway or coach transfer service. Consider downloading the Skyrail App from the AppStore or Google Play to augment your Skyrail experience.

Drive yourself to Skyrail's Smithfield terminal where there is ample parking and start your tour on the Rainforest Cableway.
When you return on the Kuranda Scenic Rail a coach transfer service will bring from Freshwater Connection Train Station back to the Skyrail Smithfield terminal. Note that this tour begins from Skyrail's Smithfield terminal.
*Can be completed as a tour beginning in Kuranda, but it is an afternoon tour in this case as you must take the train from Kuranda towards Cairns and this only occurs during the afternoon.- Duration:

This tour is for passengers who will be driving themselves to Skyrail's Smithfield terminal, where there is ample parking, to start their tour on the Rainforest Cableway. Return from Kuranda on the historic Kuranda Scenic Railway with a coach transfer service to bring you from Freshwater Connection Train Station back to the Skyrail Smithfield terminal.
Skyrail and Kuranda Railway operates in most weather rain or shine, and is the world's most beautiful rainforest experience.
Tour details are:
One-way Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, allow at least 90 minutes for the one way journey, although you may want more time to explore the two Skyrail mid-stations
- Red Peak mid-station - take a self-guided or ranger led walk around the boardwalks along the forest floor
- Barron Falls mid-station - walk to the lookout over the mighty Barron Falls, see the historic artifacts from the original Barron Falls Hydro-Power station and visit the Rainforest Interpretation Centre
